Miss Malawi pageant gets K20m PremierBet boost
PremiereBet Malawi has invigorated this year’s Miss Malawi pageant with a K20 million sponsorship package.
The package will support the rollout of Miss Malawi 2025, including national auditions, a televised reality series and the grand finale set for December 6 at Pearl Convention Centre in Lilongwe.

Speaking during the signing ceremony in Lilongwe on Friday, Miss Malawi organising committee co-chairperson Godfrey Kambewa said beauty pageants rarely receive such corporate support.
“This is huge for Miss Malawi. Unlike other contests like sports, pageants often struggle to attract big sponsors. This support means a lot for the revival and growth of the platform,” he said.
Kambewa said the sponsorship reflects a shared commitment to empowering women and giving them a platform for national visibility.
“It is a shared vision. This way, Premier Bet is investing in women and promoting women’s participation which is crucial for national development. Miss Malawi is not just about beauty and a crown, but also leadership, talent and making an impact in the community,” he said.
Kambewa also disclosed that the winner of the pageant will take on an additional role as a brand ambassador responsible for betting, raising awareness on safe and informed gaming practices.
PremierBet Malawi Central Region manager Patrick Kalidozo said the company believes in supporting initiatives that align with national development and social impact.
He said: “Miss Malawi is one of the platforms that empower women and young girls and we are excited to support it.
“We expect this initiative to inspire more girls across the country to aim higher and chase their dreams.”
During the ceremony, organisers unveiled other sponsors, including Lolo’s Kloset, Chibiso Motors, We Africa, Adamant Furniture and Adlib Cafeteria.
Miss Malawi pageant has returned after a two-year break due lack of sponsorship and licence fees.
